From nurses and entomologists to veterinarians, dietitians and physicians, the Army Medical Department encompasses more than 90 professional health care specialties - more than any other military service.

One of the largest health care systems in the world, AMEDD operates more than 600 medical centers, clinics, research facilities and field units around the world. It is composed of six corps: Dental, Medical, Medical Service, Medical Specialist, Nurse and Veterinary Corps. The Army is augmented by the Army Reserve. Many opportunities exist in both components for personal and professional development, practicing in diverse environments and continuing education.
